‘Boolu Ogbe Kicks-off At Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu On Sunday’ – Barrister Emeka Offorah

…says Boolu Ogbe is sponsored by Bet9ja Foundation to discover talents, promote healthy sporting activities

The 3rd Edition of the ‘Boolu Ogbe’ tournament kicks’off on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium,  Enugu.

Barrister Emeka Offorah, South East Coordinator of the Bet9ja Foundation, disclosed this in Enugu yesterday while briefing sports journalists, ahead of the tournament.

Offorah stated, “The tournament is sponsored by Bet9ja Foundation. It is a grassroot sports competition aims at discovering and nurturing young talents while promoting healthy sporting activities within the community.
.
He further said that the foundation is committed to the tournament as it is part of the foundation’s social responsibilities.
.
According to him, “It is giving back to our customers and society what we got as well as fostering sports development in the community and the region.”
.
The Coordinator also highlighted the tournament’s achievements, noting that at least five players have been scouted from previous editions by Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) teams.

“Recall that ‘Boolu Ogbe’ which means street football in English Language, started with only workers of Bet9ja before it was taken over by the Bet9ja Foundation for proper financing and cordination.
.
The competition, he said, features attractive incentives, including N1 million for the winning team, N500,000 for the first runner-up, along with other consolatory prizes.

“Beyond the monetary rewards, the tournament aims to unite communities and develop local talents. This year, about 20 teams are expected to participate in the tournament, promising an exciting and competitive season”, he added.
