We will establish Domestic Export Warehouse in Nsukka - NSCCIMA boss

Newly elected President of Nsukka Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (NSCCIMA), Enugu State, Sam Otoboeze, yesterday, said that the Chamber would establish Domestic Export Warehouse to harness all the agricultural produces from Nsukka cultural zone for export to European nations.

The NSCCIMA boss who said that the Nsukka cultural zone has the needed human and natural resources to make the zone the economic hub of the state, stated that the export warehouse would enable the chamber to effectively rejuvenate the economic fortunes of the people of Nsukka.

The legal practitioner said that Nsukka honey, and Ose Nsukka, which have already become international products and would further permeate the world’s market in his regime as the President of the Chamber.

His words: “Nsukka has the people of means and ideas, and we are blessed with abundant natural resources. If we have the kind of natural resources we have in Nsukka nation, we should be heared in this country, we have the human and natural resources but they appear to be least harnessed.

“My challenge is to convince the young women and men to bring their intelligence to bear in this project so that people will not be dying of hunger in the midst of plenty,” he said.

Otoboeze, who was the former security chief of the Exxon Mobil and the President of Barr. Otoboeze Foundation, called on all well meaning people of Nsukka to join hands on the deck to move the Chamber forward.

Also speaking, the Director General of the Chamber, Uchenna Nnadi, bemoaned the lack of second generation companies in Igbo Nsukka despite the entrepreneurial prowess of the people of the Zone.

He expressed happiness on Barr. Otoboeze’s emergence as the President of the Chamber, adding that the economic fortunes of the zone would change for good.

While reacting to the emergence of Barr. Otoboeze, the first Vice President of the Chamber, Bona Ugwuja, said that Barr. Otoboeze would bring his vibrancy and wide contacts to bear in the affairs of the Chamber.

He further said that Barr. Otoboeze is a good listener and would enjoy the support of the executives and members of the Chamber.

Otoboeze emerged unopposed to become the 2nd President of the Chamber which was established in 2018.
