Universal School lauds Enugu council boss over commitment towards youth empowerment

The Universal School of Aviation has commended the chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, Pastor Beloved-Dan Anike, for his commitment towards youth empowerment and capacity development.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Aviation School, Mr Eedris Onifade, gave this commendation in a statement issued on Tuesday while  welcoming 20 young trainees from Enugu East who recently arrived at the Lagos-based academy to begin their Aviation Management training.

Onifade, who doubles as the Director of Studies, praised the council’s bold step in tackling youth unemployment through strategic investment in skills development, saying the initiative was worthy of emulation.

The CEO revealed that investing in youth through professional training such as aviation not only reduces unemployment but also addresses employability, which he maintained was a key challenge in the Nigerian job market.

“What your local government (Enugu East) has done is something that local governments and public institutions should emulate.
.
“We encourage other government agencies, parastatals, senatorial districts, and local government councils to empower their own people.”

The 20 participants are among the first batch of trainees sponsored by the Enugu East council under its ongoing youth empowerment scheme, which aims to equip them with practical skills and knowledge in various sectors, including airline operations, customer service, and tourism.

The move reflects a broader commitment of Anike-led administration to human capital investment, which aligns with Governor Peter Mbah’s vision for a skilled and productive youths in Enugu State.
