Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas and the world bank team have been lauded for ongoing several projects intervention in the state.

The State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Aisha Barde made the remarks shortly after inspecting ongoing intervention projects of the world bank in the state.

Aisha Barde who was accompanied during the inspection with Taraba AcReSAL Team, commended the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for creating an enabling environment for the implementation of AcReSAL projects including its activities in the state.

The Commissioner also lauded the world bank team for investing so much in addressing environmental/infrastructure challenges to improve lives.

She called on authorities to ensure that the structures are judiciously used, restating commitment to do the needful.

“I want to first of all, thank his excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas for giving us an enabling environment to implement the AcReSAl project as well as its activities in the state. This project is aimed at addressing some environmental and infrastructure challenges especially within the Ministry of environment”, she stated.

Also speaking, the AcReSAL Project Coordinator, Dr. Cement Yakubu Giwa, said the aim of embarking on renovation/rehabilitation of some structures in the three frontline ministries including Taraba environmental Protection agency (TEPA) was to address infrastructure challenges in line with the policies of AcReSAL project.

Giwa thanked Governor Kefas for being supportive to the project, commending the Commissioner who is also the Steering Committee Chairperson for collaborating with the AcReSAL Team.

He reaffirmed commitment for for project execution.

According to him, “AcReSal is a world bank initiative aimed at addressing infrastructure/environmental challenges and we as Taraba AcReSAL, are ready to deliver on this mandate.”
“I want to thank the honorable commissioner of environment and climate change who is also the steering committee chairperson for cooperating well to see that we have a fair playground”, he said.
Meanwhile, Daily News Nigeria Correspondent who was in the entourage of the Commissioner observed that the areas visited included the ongoing renovations of two blocks at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, one office block at TEPA, one office block at the Ministry of agriculture and food security as well as an office block at the Ministry of Water Management and Aquatic Affairs and Gadan Bobboji gully erosion, respectively.
