A new wave of advocacy and humanitarian service focusing on human rights protection, access to justice, consumer advocacy, and humanitarian services has assured vulnerable persons protection.

The Executive Director Human Foundation (LACH Foundation) Barr. Luke Chibueze Adonwe, Luke Chibueze Adonwe disclosed this at the weekend while briefing journalists on the missions of their foundation.

Adonwe also pledge to defend human rights, protect consumers and empower communities across the state and Nigeria at large noting that the initiative was born out of a passion to give voice to the voiceless, address consumer exploitation especially in the power sector and provide welfare for vulnerable groups in society.

According to Adonwe, the partnerships with other partners were designed to harness expertise and grassroots presence to “create a united front against poverty, injustice, and social exclusion.”
.
“Our mandate covers human rights protection, access to justice, consumer advocacy, and humanitarian services,” Adonwe told journalists.
.
“From arbitrary electricity billing and lack of prepaid meters to the forced migration of consumers to ‘Band A,’ Nigerians have suffered injustices that cannot be ignored. We intend to challenge these practices and restore dignity to the ordinary citizen,” he further stated.

Beyond consumer rights, the Foundation outlined a broad agenda to support youth, women, and persons with disabilities through empowerment programs, legal aid, and community partnerships.

Victims of abuse, neglected children, and the elderly are also at the heart of its welfare and humanitarian commitments.

In a passionate appeal, he underscored the role of the press as a key ally in driving the mission of the Foundation.

“The media has the power to shape public opinion and hold institutions accountable. We invite you to join hands with us in amplifying the voices of the oppressed and ensuring justice in our society,” Adonwe hinted.

The launch drew commendations from civil society actors and community leaders in attendance, who described the Foundation’s intervention as timely, given the rising economic hardship and the frustrations many citizens face with essential services.

Adonwe, a lawyer and rights advocate, expressed optimism that the Foundation, a non-governmental organisation working with its partners and the media, would make lasting impact in Ebonyi and beyond.

“Today marks the beginning of a long journey of advocacy, service, and impact. With collective effort and God’s grace, our vision will be achieved,” he said.

The briefing brought together the Foundation’s collaborators, including Adonwe-Luke Integrity Nig. Ltd, Ogodoekwanri Farmers Nigeria Ltd, Ebonyi Citizens Electricity Consumers MCS Ltd, Beauty of Love International Ministries, and Livewell Abakaliki MCS Ltd.
