Retired Enugu Community Health Officer, Ezinne Ngene passes-on at 85 – Son

The death has been announced of Late Ezinne, Elizabeth Uzoamaka Ngene (NNEDIOGO, NNE OKWUKWE) of Umuichiatu, Umuaniagu-Achime in Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local government Area of Enugu State.

A statement by the eldest son, Dr Maxwell Menkiti Ngene on behalf of the deceased family said that Ezinne Ngene was aged 85 and died after a brief illness in her sleep during the early hours of Saturday, July 1, 2023.

The statement further reads:

 “Late Mrs. Ngene retired meritoriously from the services of the Enugu State Local Government Service Commission as Chief Community Health Officer.
.
“During her lifetime, she worked at the Parklane General Hospital, Amechi Awkunanaw Health Centre, Ozalla Health Centre as well as the Obe Health Centre in Nkanu West Local Government Area of the Enugu State.
.
“She was a devout Christian, Woman Leader, and a role model. Late Elizabeth Ngene is the mother of Dr. Maxwell Menkiti Ngene, a veteran broadcast journalist, academic, National trade union leader, activist, and social commentator.
.
“Others to mourn her are: Oliver Ngene, Emmanuel Ngene (sons) Ada Obinigwe Echezona, and Gladys Eberchukwu Okoli (Daughters) grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, in laws, relatives, and friends too numerous to mention.
.
“Arrangements for her burial and funeral rites would be communicated in due course.”

“May Her gentle soul find rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen!!!”
