NSCDC C-G Tasks Officers On Proactive Measures to Achieve Mandate

The Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Audi, has urged personnel to rededicate themselves to the mandate of the corps.

Audi made the call at the opening of the 2025 middle management retreat in Enugu on Monday.

Represented by Dr Elijah Willie, the Commandant, NSCDC, Enugu State, Audi said that keying into the core mandate of NSCDC was critical towards ensuring efficiency and tactical service delivery.

Speaking at the retreat with the theme:” Revisiting our Mandate with Proactive Pragmatism: A Pathway to Sustainable Impact”, he urged personnel to take the retreat seriously.

The commandant-general stated that the retreat was strategically planned to bring personnel up to speed with emerging trends in security services.

“Looking at the responsibilities given to corps by the Act establishing it, the need for this kind of retreats becomes very critical.

“This programmme is part of our vision to train and retrain our personnel in order to sharpen their operational readiness and competencies.

“It is also to upscale their capacities, bring them up to speed with current security realities and challenges, and to position them for better performance,” he said.

He used the occasion to express the commitment of the corps towards effective protection of the nation’s critical assets.

Audi urged members of the public to always support the NSCDC with reliable intelligence that would enable it to proactively combat crime and insecurity.

Also speaking, Mr Abel Sunu, the Commandant, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Command in Enugu State, urged the participants to apply the knowledge gained from the retreat in their jobs.

Sunu further urged the participants to religiously follow standard operating procedure in order to achieve optimal successes.

In his speech, the Controller, Nigeria Immigration Service in Enugu State, Mrs Nkechi Enete, urged the officers not to treat the programme with levity, saying “endeavour to take home key ideas”

Represented by Mr Kalu Ndu, an officer in the command, Enete urged them to take intelligence gathering seriously in their operations
