Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu yesterday commissioned the Oluremi Tinubu Mother and Child Hospital, Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, built by her office, under the supervision of the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
.
In her address at the commissioning ceremony, the First Lady said the commissioning of the center symbolizes renewed hope for our communities, in line with the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to qualify health services delivery, geared towards accelerating the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly SDG 3.
.
She said, “We must continue to emphasize the importance of maternal health care in building a healthier society. I therefore urge the women and members of this community to take advantage of the services available at this special health center and also take ownership of the center. It is for your benefit and welfare of your children”.

The Nigeria’s First Lady expressed gratitude to “our dedicated health workers, especially our Nurses and Midwives for the care and support you provide to mothers and children.

The First Lady expressed appreciation to Governor Hope Uzodimma and his Wife, Barr. Mrs Chioma Uzodimma for their dedication to the wellbeing and development of Imo people.

In his speech, Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for the timely and strategic investment in the health and dignity of “our mothers and children.
.
“Naming this hospital after Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (CON) is a fitting tribute to her tireless contributions to National development and her unwavering advocacy for women and vulnerable groups.”

Governor Uzodimma re-emphasized the deep commitment of his administration to reducing maternal and child mortality, as a result of inadequate facilities and healthcare access. He said the hospital being commissioned directly supports that mission.

“Having visited this site, ahead of this event, I can attest that it was delivered to specification, equipped with modern medical technology, and ready to serve. It joins a growing list of federal government intervention projects, under the Renewed Hope Agenda and stands as a clear demonstration of a focused and inclusive leadership of President Tinubu”.

The Governor also expressed gratitude to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire for her coordination, passion, commitment and dedication which helped to bring the project to fruition.

Earlier in her address, the First Lady of Imo State, Barr. Chioma Uzodimma appreciated the Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her desire to empower women and protect the vulnerable, which she described as a great inspiration to.

“This 100-bed Mother and Child Center is a beacon of hope for countless mothers and children in Imo State and beyond. It’s a sanctuary where expectant mothers can access quality care, newborns receive critical attention, and families find reassurance in times of need.
.
“This facility will transform lives and serve as a model for other states”.

Barr. Uzodimma expressed special appreciation to the the Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for allowing the facility to bear her name, describing it as a noble standard to uphold.

“Thank you for honouring us with your presence and for your commitment to women and children in Nigeria.”

She expressed gratitude to her husband, Senator Dr. Hope Uzodimma, for his leadership effort in improving healthcare delivery and promoting inclusive development.

She equally appreciated the Ministry of Health, development partners, and stakeholders for their dedication, as well as Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.

Barr. Uzodimma pledged, on behalf the management of the hospital, to maintain the highest standards of care and compassion, reflecting the dignity and dedication shown by the Nigeria’s First Lady to Nigerian women.
