Missing govt property: Otti to inaugurate panel of inquiry today

The Government of Abia State led by Dr Alex Otti has announced that today, June 27, would be a day set out to inaugurate a Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Recovery of Government Property and Funds.

This newspaper reports that there have been claims, counterclaims, allegations, accusations and all manner of rhetorics on issues of stolen, confiscation, personalization and mass grabbing of government property of recent.

Residents have made claims of sold government property like schools, open lands and more, charging the incumbent government to make serious efforts to recover such and reposition them for the good of all.

Mr Kazie Uko, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Abia State, Dr Otti while explaining the details of the panel said that the panel as approved by the governor has five members with Hon Justice Ikwuoma Duruoha-Igwe (rtd.) as Chairman.

Uko said that other members of the panel are Prof Ogwo Ekeoma Ogwo, Prof. Ursula Ngozi Akanwa, Mazi Ugochukwu Okoroafor and Rev Father Barr Alex Okonkwo.

He said that the panel would be inaugurated at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Umuahia, the state capital by noon today, Tuesday.
