LBD Donates Modern Toilet Facility Worth N10 million To UNTH

A Faith based organisation called “The Living By Design Nation (AKA ACE FOUNDATION)” on Tuesday, donated modern Toilet facility worth N10 million to Management of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Enugu.

Speaking at the commissioning/handover of the Toilet facility, Emeritus Professor Ifeoma Okoye, Provost Living By Design Institute, said, “I stand before you today, humbled and honoured to represent Living By Design Nation (LBD), as we officially handover this state of art toilet/bathroom suite to University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu.

“Today marks a significant milestone in our mission to serve humanity and make a tangible difference in our community. The LBD recognized the critical need for functional restrooms in this esteemed institution, and we’re thrilled to have bridged that gap. We are grateful to Pastor (Mrs) Chinwe Ejioforbiri, whose attention was drawn to this grave need by a close friend who was a patient at UNTH & recounted the nightmare of this deficiency!

“As we handover this facility, we pray that the UNTH Foundation’s quest for N10 million will be exceeded, & projects such as The LBD Toilet Gift will be a standard other well meaning individuals and organizations will desire to emulate and answer the clarion call of the UNTH Foundation!

May it also serve as a reminder that we are not just caregivers, but also stewards of humanity “

“This project is more than just a charitable gesture; it is a testament to our organisation’s commitment to improving the lives of others. We believe that access to clean, safe, and dignified sanitation is a fundamental right.

In their welcome address, Founders of the Living By Design Nation, Dr Chiefo & Pastor Chinwe Ejiofobiri, said, “The LBD is a community of successful entrepreneurs, peak professionals and iconic leaders from all walks of life across nations and continents of the globe.

“We love the Lord and strive to live by His standard, seeking to influence and colour our environment through the prism of His love”, he added.

On the birthing of the project, Ejiofobiri went back memory lane recalling, “One fateful day, the Vice President of the Living By Design Nation, Pastor Chinwe Ejiofobiri, was discussing with her friend who was on admission in this flagship medical institution.

“This friend was not getting the level of rest she required because she had to be up before dawn to move her bowel in very crude and unacceptable makeshift arrangements and then take her bath outside under the cover of darkness because her part of the hospital lacked such a functional facility as a restroom.

“Shocked by the decay, the health hazards and indignity of the situation, Pastor Chinwe reached out to Emeritus Prof Ifeoma Joy Okoye, asking her to wield her influence in securing us the permission and space to build a comfort station or restrooms for this part of the hospital’.

“Something inside her had revolted on hearing that account. She is not one to see a problem and turn a blind eye to it. She confronts it squarely until a solution is found”.

“The rest is history! We stand here today, commissioning ‘The Comfort Station’, a testament of what an individual can achieve when you take a decision and step out.”

Also speaking, Professor Obinna Onodugo, Chief Medical Director (CMD), represented by Associate Professor Salomey Ezeofor, noted: “Today, we celebrate a gift from Living By Design Nation (LBD), a remarkable arm of the Ace Foundation, that represents a global community of over 2,500 members, united by a powerful vision of personal and collective transformation.”

“To the Living By Design Nation, on behalf of the entire Hospital Management and Community, I extend our deepest gratitude. It is a symbol of hope, a beacon of care, and a tangible expression of a community committed to lifting others up”, he stated.

Also speaking, Leader Ifenna Aralu the Mayor of LBD, Enugu disclosed that the toilet facility worth N10 million was built by the faith based organisation, stressing that it is a modern equipped toilet facility of 8 blocks (4 female blocks and 4 male blocks).

“The facility, which began in 2021 is equipped with water closet toilets, wash-hand basins and showers for the convenience of the users.

“Also available is a 750 liters of water storage system to ensure a consistent flow of water for the facility”, he stated.
