Former President Muhammadu Buhari who died on Sunday at 1630 hours Nigerian time in a London clinic is to be buried in his home town of Daura, Katsina State of Nigeria at 1600 hours of Monday, July 14 according to Islamic rites.

Impeccable sources at the Presidency revealed to Patmos Media Line that arrangements have been concluded to give him a befitting state burial at his hometown but we are yet to confirm whether his wife, Aisha who has reportedly being staying in Saudi Arabia since her husband tenure as President expired will be available in time for the burial.

It was also gathered from sources close to the Late President Buhari that he eventually succumbed to Cancer of the blood, an information which was kept off public domain from 2015 when he had been having frequent medical visits abroad for his treatment.

Already President Bola Tinubu immediately ordered his Vice, Kashim Shetima to proceed to London to accompany the body of late President Muhammadu Buhari home. The VP was reported to have flown direct to London from Abuja for the assignment.

Tinubu who said he had a telephone conversation with Mrs. Aisha Buhari and condolences her, directed a seven day national mourning from today, Sunday with flags flying at half mast.

Incidentally Buhari’s Media Aide, Shehu Garba who initially broke the news of his Principal’s death to Nigerians was preparing to launch a book on the LIFE AND TIME OF PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI which speculations stated would have been done on 17th December 2025 when the former President would have clocked 83 years.

Muhammadu Buhari was a Military Head of State from 31st December 1983 to 27th August 1985 after he terminated the civilian regime of Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Usman Shagari. The Evil Genius, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida toppled him on 27th August 1985.

Former Major General Buhari dumped the Khaki to contest against Goodluck Jonathan and won to be President and Commander-in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023 when Ahmed Tinubu took over on the platform of the APC.

Many Nigerians had alleged that his government as a civilian President was tyrannical in his policies, relationships with the people he governed and introduction of insecurity to the government but as a fervent and devoted Muslim, he publicly apologised to anyone he could have hurt and pleaded profusely for forgiveness of his probable sins or offences.

One of the remarkable things Buhari did as President was in recognising late business mogul, Moshood Kashimawo Olanbiwonu Abiola as the winner of the June 12,1993 election squashed by General Ibrahim Babanguda. He delightfully to many Nigerians decorated Abiola posthumously with the GCFR medal given to Nigerian Presidents in an auspicious ceremony in Abuja.
