Insecurity: Anambra Police boss seeks maximum cooperation with sister security agencies, church

To stem the growing level of insecurity in Anambra State, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Aderemi Adeoye has paid courtesy visits to various sister security agencies and churches in the state, seeking maximum cooperation.

Some of the Heads of security Agencies he visited included; Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) and National Drug Laws Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA).

A statement by the state Police Public Relation Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu said that Adeoye seeks greater cooperation among other security agencies to ensure adequate security in the state.

“During the visit, the CP solicited for the sustenance of existing cooperation among the services in the fight against crimes and criminalities as well as enhancing safety and security of Ndi Anambra as the Police can not do it alone”, he said.

According to him, the Police would continue to open its doors to the relevant agencies for meaningful engagements.

He expressed delight with the responses of the head of sister agencies as they promised during the visit to cooperate with the police to halt the tide of insecurity in the state especially in the area of intelligence sharing and joint operations.

The Police Spokesman further said that the Commissioner of Police equally visited Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor where he enjoined the Church to advocate peace by encouraging individuals to shun violence and be law abiding.

Bishop Ezeokafor commended the Commissioner of Police for his visit, praying for the country and security operatives.
