Imo Governor, Uzodimma dissolves cabinet

…Says, “we remain united family”

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has dissolved his cabinet.

This came barely 24 hours after his swearing-in for the second tenure of his administration.

Uzodimma dissolved the expanded executive council of the government with a promise that the new cabinet would be constituted in no distant time.

The governor made it clear that it is constitutional for him to end the first tenure by dissolving the appointees, adding that they are still a family.

He called on the dishonest ones among his cabinet to have a change of heart.

The governor gave an assurance that all of them would be part of the new vision with new attitude for work and a guiding document that would soon be unfolded.

According to him, it would , involve all of them directly or tangentially into the governance, adding, “I will not abandon you and I am sure you will not abandon me.

“I know your various capacities and where you can do better. We will do some sample in and sample out”.

The governor said he was encouraged from the responses he has been getting which indicated that they have not disappointed Imo people.

He posited that the second tenure would afford them the opportunity to consolidate on those achievements.

The governor, however, frowned seriously against the act of greed witnessed among some of his appointees who were busy grabbing things that were even surplus to their requirements

He recounted many innovative achievements of his first tenure in office which he said would not have been possible if not for the support of the appointees.
