Imo: Gov Uzodimma Inaugurates New Boards, Commissions

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has sworn-in members of the Imo State Judicial Service Commission, charging them to establish a credible judicial record and commence the selection process for a substantive chief judge.

Uzodimma emphasized the critical role of the commission in managing the conduct of judges, ensuring discipline, and sanitizing the judiciary.

“We must cleanse the judiciary and uphold its integrity,” Governor Uzodimma said. “The recent removal of the state’s chief judge over age falsification is a clear indication that we will not tolerate any form of misconduct.”

The governor also inaugurated the newly constituted boards for Imo State University (IMSU), the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), and the Imo State Road Maintenance Agency (IROMA). He stressed the importance of these boards in ensuring the smooth administration of the state.

Chief Louis Alozie, SAN, a member of the Judicial Service Commission, assured the governor that their collective knowledge would be utilized without compromise to enhance the efficiency and fairness of the justice system in the state.

“We will work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served in Imo State,” Chief Alozie said.

Rev. Fr. Philip Ogbonna, Chairman of the Board of Imo State University, Owerri, pledged to provide selfless service to the state and uphold the esteemed position of trust they now occupied.

“We will work closely with the management of IMSU to ensure that the university achieves its goals,” Rev. Fr. Ogbonna said.
