Imo First Lady pays hospital bills of babies born on New year day, others

Wife of Imo State Governor, Mrs Chioma Uzodimma, yesterday cleared hospital bills of babies born on the first day of 2024 in the state.

Fielding questions from our correspondent, the Governor’s wife said every January she goes to hospitals to pay the hospital bills of children born on the first day of the year.

At the Specialist Hospital Umuguma, the First Lady paid the hospital bill of Master Somtochukwu, extending the largesse to other newly born babies as well as other patients in the hospital.

“It is always a thing of joy to come here and perceive the freshness of new born babies. We are grateful to God for the gift of life, as we pray God to bless the new born babies, their parents and provide all that is needed to train them.

The First Lady said, “2024 is a year of blessings, restoration, manifestation and of answered prayers.”

“I can feel the positivity launching into this new year. Our women, our girl child, even our men and entire Imo people should keep the hope alive, be positive and know that our God is a God that doesn’t sleep or slumber. He doesn’t say a thing and it will not come to pass”.

“We should keep trusting God, have faith in Him, with the optimism that this year is a better and blessed year for Nigerians and Imolites”.

Responding, Mrs Peace Emmanuel Okafor whose delivery bill for Master Somtochukwu was paid by the First Lady expressed surprise at the gesture, praying that God would continue to bless and protect the governor’s wife and her entire first family.
