… Promises to add value to women, Imolites

Imo State Deputy Governor-Elect, Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru has expressed overwhelming joy over the seamless manner at which the Governorship Election was conducted in the state last Saturday.

Lady Ekomaru made her feelings known while fielding questions from newsmen after a meeting at the Government House Owerri
.
“My joy knows no bounds. I am so happy for how the process went through seamlessly. INEC officials were there on time, the security mobilization was topnotch”.
.
On her advice to other contestants for the governorship seat who could not make it, she made it clear that in every process like election or other contests, there must be winners and losers.
.
She called on the candidates who could not make it to behave like sportsmen by embracing the winner and accepting the hands of fellowship already extended to them.

“It is not that Senator Hope Uzodimma won the election, it is that Imolites have decided who they want to lead them for the next four years and they have chosen Senator Hope Uzodimma to be the man driving the vehicle. Because by his track record, he has shown capacity. He has shown that Imo being in his hands, we are all going to get to a destination every Imolite will be happy about.

“As a woman deputy governor, I see it as my responsibility to bring the women folk together irrespective of political party leaning to bring value to whatever they venture into.
“We have a lot of women who are enlightened, in different fields of human endeavours; Lawyers, Doctors, who can go to the rural women, to teach them their rights, educate them, conduct free medical tests on them, such as diabetic test and such other health issue they overlook .
“Our amiable governor has been doing a lot on healthcare already and when you talk about health care, women easily pop up, because they are the ones bearing children, they are the ones who; from time to time, have one form of problem or the other.
“So I intend to project women more, and being beside the governor, as a woman, I know what women go through, I know how it feels for women, and luckily, by God’s grace the governor chose a woman this time around, so being that close to policy making, I will make sure that women are remembered in a special way”, she said.

Mrs Ekomaru expressed her love for Agriculture and promised that within the limits of her office, would help to encourage women to go back to land even if it is only to produce for the needs of their families.
