An Aide to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State on Inter-Party Affairs, Mr Matthias Madus, has cried out for help following his battle with an ailment.
To this end, the Ebonyi State indigene said he needs over N500,000 to perform surgery to save his life.
Madu was diagnosed of twisted intestine that had kept him in a critical condition which could lead to death if no financial assistance comes to his way.
Wife of Madu, Promise, told reporters in Enugu on Monday that her husband was admitted at St. Gabriel Hospital, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu where scan showed that he has a twisted intestine as a result of ruptured appendicitis.
She said, “Because we could not afford the operation, the doctor discharged us. He said he does not want any patient to die in his hospital”.
“But we could not leave the hospital because the doctor is demanding that we should pay N59,000 which the hospital used in treating my husband since we came”, she said.
According to her, “We have been calling his Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi but he is yet to respond to our calls and messages.
“I want Governor Ugwuanyi and other Nigerians to come to our aid as my husband is in a very critical condition.
“The doctor said delaying in performing the surgery can lead to another thing and I don’t know what to do as we have used the little money we had in buying him drugs”.
Mrs Madus further said that apart from the N500,000, the family needs money to buy him drugs.
“I sell soya milk which I use to feed our five kids since my husband became sick last Friday,” she said.
