Glitz, Glamour In Enugu Akwu-Achi Community As Okechukwu Nwokeabia’s Dauguter, Elizabeth Takes Traditional Marriage Vow

A scion of the Nwokeabia Family of Enugu Akwu Achi in Oji-River Local Government Area of Enugu State, Okechukwu Nwokeabia last Saturday gave out the hands of his first child, Elizabeth Nwokeabia in, to her heart throb Ifeanyi Anikwe in a colourful traditional ceremony.

The society wedding had high profile people from diaspora and other parts of the country.

In an exclusive interview with this reporter, Okechukwu who was very busy trying to ensure that the guests were comfortable, spoke on the traditional marriage of his first daughter whom he described as a well behaved child despite being born and bred in America.

“She still decided to marry a Nigerian man and an Alumnus of the famous College of The Immaculate Conception (CIC), Enugu where he himself also studied.

The ‘Semper fidelis’ as the students of the School are called, were there in their numbers, adding colour to the event.

Okechukwu, while smiling, noted that the ceremony was fantastic, pointing out that he never interfered with the choice of his daughter in her marriage decision.

He said, “My second daughter will likely toe the same line, looking at her current situation which means they are comfortable with their father land and I have always pray for them from their childhood to make the right choices in life.”

Among the dignitaries at the event was the Chairman of Oji-River Local Government Council, Anyaegbudike who came with his entourage.

The ceremony was well coordinated and guests were treated to sumptuous delicacies and music that kept them dancing in the expansive venue of the event.
