Vice President, Senator Cashim Shettima has urged Imo people to give Governor Hope Uzodimma a second chance to ‘continuously keep the state on the map, far above its peers.’
.
The Vice President made the request at the auditorium of the Imo State Council of traditional rulers, when he paid a courtesy visit on the chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers (Eze Imo), Eze Emmanuel Okeke and other leaders of traditional rulers in the state.

It was part of the activities marking the flag off of APC governorship campaign for the November 11 election.
.
Shettima expressed happiness that almost all leaders of the state including former governors; Ikedi Ohakim and Rochas Okorocha are now on the side of the governor, ahead of the November 11 governorship election.
.
He also promised to convince Senator Ifeanyi Ararume to join the team, stressing, “we have to collapse all structures into one, so we can give a befitting second chance to our governor”.
.
The VP described Uzodimma as an epitome of good governance, one who is always ready to sacrifice his comfort to serve his people, adding that ‘the governor goes out of his way to negotiate the best deal for the state at any opportunity, wherever he sees any glimpse of opportunity.’
.
He listed some of the giant strides of the governor to include raising the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state from N16 to N30 billion, rehabilitation of over 300 health centres across the state, improvement in the security architecture of the state, massive roads construction and rehabilitation (over 1000 kilometers).

“The election is around the corner, you can go to bed, assured that our dear friend and brother, Governor Uzodimma will never put his personal interest above your’s. He has demonstrated that and I believe he is the most qualified of all the candidates asking you to vote for them.
.

Governor Uzodimma while inviting the vice president to commission the road, described it as one among the numerous roads his administration had constructed in the state, saying it was a promise made and kept.
