A one-day national prayer rally in Jalingo has ended with a call on Christians to look up to God and never surrender.

This was contained in a prayer offered by representative of former Nigeria Head of State, Gen. Dr. Yakubu Gowon, chairman, Nigerian Prays/convener with other spiritual leaders/men of God in the great gospel house in Jalingo.

The theme of the prayer rally titled: “Peace Be Still” was prayer and fasting for Nigeria and her leaders across the board.

Speaking on the significance of the gathering of North-East Zone of Nigeria prays shortly after the programme, the state coordinator, Rev Dr. Nelson Duna, first and foremost thanked God for a successful hosting, pointing out that the entire program witnessed the largest congregation turnout in Jalingo in recent time.

According to Rev. Duna, the essence of the prayer rally was to mobilize men and women of God together and pray for peace for the nation and her leaders.

He also disclosed that “Nigeria Prays” was a religious gathering borne out-of-passion by Gen. Yakubu Gowon, who is the national chairman, purposely for Christians to always pray for Nigeria.

Rev. Nelson who is also the general overseer Albarka Church of Reconciliation, Jalingo, noted that Nigeria prays has come to stay and that the vision behind it has paid off, hence present and past leaders of the nation have continued to be identifying with the founder and its coordinators nation-wide for positive change, he stated.

The general overseer who also shed more light on Albarka Church of Reconciliation, a prominent congregational worship center in the state, was established on December 28th,1986.

He also disclosed that the church has sprayed across the nooks and crannies in the state, revealing that his target was to reach the unreached people for gospel, saying faithfulness has remained a key factor to his overall success.

The Cordinator said “I won’t conclude these remarks without appreciating the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for taking all the responsibilities of this program upon himself to the logical conclusion, may God bless him, bless all spiritual men and women from North-East and beyond for their support.”
