Excitement as Metropolitan Lions Club, LEAP Alliance, St Mary Catholic Church, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu offer free medical treatment to over 200 persons in the area

There was an excitement in Trans-Ekulu axis in Enugu-East Local Government Area of Enugu State yesterday when Metropolitan Lions Club in partnership with LEAP Alliance at St Mary Catholic Church, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu offered free medical treatment to more than 200 persons in the area.

Daily News Nigeria learnt that the free medical outreach centered on foot screening for detection of diabetic peripheral and neuropathy with loss of protection sensation.

Members of Lions Club and LEAP Alliance arrived the scene of the event as early as 6:30am and commenced preparation towards blood fasting testing , checking of vitals, counseling and adminstration of drugs to people or patients.

There were three masses Church services conducted at the St Mary Catholic Church by the Parish Priest, Rev. Monsignor Ojielo with over 100 parishioners in attendance.

Speaking to newsmen at the event, Confidence kalu of lEAP Alliance explained that the aim of the free medical services was to help reach out to those who might not have access to medical treatment.

One of the beneficiaries who gave her name as Dame Joy Enewali said she was highly impressed by the medical extension, commending the organisers for the humanitarian work.
