Excitement As Igbo Community Association Ends 8-year Leadership Crisis In Taraba

At last, the leadership crisis rocking Igbo Community Association (ICA) in Taraba State has come to an end, the President-General of the union, Decean Micheal Adili has said.

Speaking to Daily News Nigeria Correspondent shortly after the end of its quarterly meeting held in Jalingo yesterday, Adili recalled that the eight years feud which came to limelight in 2017 was centered on mismanagement, lack of transparency, accountability and injustice by the previous administration, among others.

Adili said, “new ICA Taraba has resolved to set a new record by introducing positive ideas which were accepted and cherished by the majority, aimed at moving the association forward. Members are excited over how the feud was resolved.”

He said, meantime, the association has recorded tremendous successes ranging from increase in attendance lists, love, unity and peace among one another since  he assumed office barely few months ago.

The President-General said his desire is to see that the new Taraba ICA stands the test of time where lingering issues remain in history, paving way for total transformation of a new era that Ndigbo would be proud of in Taraba State now and after his tenure.

According to him, “the new ICA did not leave any stone unturned and to  boost legitimacy and accountability, ICA now has duly registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and recognized by government at all levels.”

While urging ICA members to live in peace with the host state, he also solicited support of Ndigbo in Taraba to continue praying for administration of Agbu Kefas to succeed.

Also in an interview, the Eze Udo 1 Taraba, HRH Friday A.C. Okeli, called for a united Igbo Community Association (ICA) in Taraba State.

Okeli urged the members to be brothers’ keeper and ensure peaceful co-existence, saying a house divided against itself will never stand.
.
According to Eze Udo 1, he was in the meeting to proffer fatherly advice bearing a mind that the new ICA in Taraba particularly the present leadership is of men of proving integrity.

The royal father who is also the number “Two”  Royal father in Taraba State  after Eze Igbo 1 of Taraba, HRH Igwe Wilfred Ibe expressed delight over the new ICA in Taraba State, urging them to remain focused.

The Monarch is also the chairman Ndi-Eze north-east, vice chairman 19 northern president general of Ndi-Igbo, Executive member inter-tribal traditional leaders association of Nigeria comprises Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo and the life patron of ICA Mararaba/Donga Local Government Area respectively.
