The atmosphere of Ubaha-ozuh Omuma community was enveloped with excitement, yesterday, as an illustrious son of the community, Chief Uchenna Uzodimma, through his foundation known as “Uchenna Uzodimma foundation” dished out empowerment items to twenty eight youths of the community.
.
Some of the items of empowerment included; Motorcycles, Sowing machines, Generating sets and Barbing kits, Grinding machines, among others.
.
In his speech during the empowerment programme, Chief Uchenna Uzodimma  opined that the best way to alleviate poverty is by empowering the youths with skills and trade, not by giving them money.
.
He urged the  beneficiaries to use the items to improve their lives and be able to empower others in the future.
.
The philanthropist said he started by enrolling the beneficiaries in skill acquisition training, and having acquired the skills, he decided to give them start-up equipment, to enable them start the trade they learnt.
.
On his future plan for the empowerment programme, Uzodimma had this to say, “As long as there is life, we will keep helping people to grow”.
.
He urged those who did not benefit to exercise patience, with optimism that within a year’s time they will also be favoured.
.
Fielding questions from newsmen, one of the beneficiaries, Udoka Eze, who received  Barbing kits and generating set for barbing saloon, expressed overwhelming joy for the favour granted him by the donor.
.
He exclaimed, “Infact, I can’t hold my joy anymore, I am so so happy. I didn’t expect it, but I am happy”.
.
To the  benefactor, he had these to say, “More energy to him. God will bless him more for us”
