BY IKENNA OGBU / ENUGU

It was jubilation for Labour Party, Enugu State Chapter, on Saturday as its Candidate, Osita Eze, defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Jeff Mbah in the Oji River Constituency rerun held in Enugu State.

The rerun election held in just one polling unit; Central school Oji-River which had 2489 registered voters.

The result was declared inconclusive after the March 18, poll as the polling unit was cancelled and the margin of lead was less than the number of PVCs collected in the polling unit.

At the end of the ballot, the Labour Party garnered one hundred and eight (108) votes while the PDP’s candidate polled one hundred and eighteen (118) votes.

With the results, the PDP failed to write off the deficit of over 300 votes which the Labour Party was leading with after the March 18, poll.
