Enugu LG Chairman, Anike sponsors 20 youths on professional training on aviation management

Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, Pastor Beloved-Dan Anike, has sponsored 20 youths from the council for professional training on aviation management at the Universal School of Aviation, Lagos.

Anike stated this in Enugu on Thursday that the beneficiaries, who departed Enugu on Monday had arrived at the Lagos-based aviation academy and commenced intensive training at the institution.

He said the initiative was part of a broader strategic effort to equip youths with market-relevant skills, boosting their employability and preparing them for global opportunities.

According to him, over 200 youths applied for the programme and over 100 of them were successfully screened.

He noted that they would trained on wide range of specialised courses, including airline ticketing and reservation, flight attendant training, customer service management, helicopter landing operations, hotel management among others.

Anike stressed that the training aligns with his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive development, especially for women and young people in the council.

In addition to the aviation program, he disclosed that the council would launch “One Youth, One Skill” initiative, aimed at training over 500 youths on different 22 vocational and entrepreneurial skill.

Meanwhile, observers have lauded the administration’s forward-thinking approach, describing the initiative as a transformative investment in the future of Enugu East.
