Enugu Govt has done alot to build capacities of youths – Ekweremadu

Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Barrister Lloyd Ikechukwu Ekweremadu, has said that Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s led administration has done a lot of work to develop the capacities of youths in the state.

Ekweremadu, stated this at the 1st 2025 Management meeting of Directors and Heads of Departments in his Ministry, esterday
.
The Commissioner noted with happiness the commitment of Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah  towards Youth development, noting the achievements of his Ministry in 2024.
.
He explained that his Ministry against all odds, achieved so much last year, especially in the areas of developing and building youth capacities through the  programmes of the Ministry.
.
His words: “In 2024, the Ministry, trained more than 3000 youths across the state in various skills, vocation and in agriculture to build their capacities and to enable them face the economic realities of Nigeria”.
.
“We entered into partnership with Del- York and are training youths at IMT,  where we do ICT focused programmes on animation , graphic designs . 1118 youths registered on- line for the programme,700 of them had been trained, while 300 of the youths will commence Cohorts.
.
“In partnership with The Potters Wheel Foundation, the Ministry trained 500 youths in Enugu, on Digital Marketing skills, confectioneries, on detergent production ,soap and pomade making skills, craftmanship,  tailoring etc. 100 youths from each of the the 17 local governments totalling 1700 youths were also trained in 2024.

“Another 700 youths were trained in agriculture in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture”,he explained.
.
“In their separate remarks, the Director Organising Mr Boniface Onovoh, the Director Coaching Ephraim Ochomma ,the Head of Youth Mrs Ethel Ezezue, commended the Commissioner for the immense work he has done in the Ministry, pledging to  contribute their quota to the development of youths in the State.
