Enugu: Gov. Mbah to support development of more markets  to attract investors

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has promised to support the development of more markets in order to attract more local and foreign investors in the state.

Mbah made the promise on Tuesday during the official opening of the Amankpaka Ultra-Modern Market in Enugu East Local Government Area of the state.

Represented by  his Special Assistant on Project, Mr Ogugua Emehelu, the governor, said the market was a significant milestone in the state’s economic development, attracting traders and buyers from across the state.

According to him, the market is a vital economic initiative that aligns with his economic agenda to grow the Enugu state economy from $4.4b to $30b.
.
He commended the chairman of Enugu East LGA. Pst. Beloved-Dan Anike, for not only adopting, completing but also seeing to the commissioning of the project.

In his remark, the Enugu East LGA chairman, Beloved-Dan Anike, applauded the Amankpaka Nike community for their initiative and investment in the market.

Anike also acknowledged his predecessor, Mr. Livinus Anike, for starting the project in collaboration with the community.

The Chairman urged displaced traders to take advantage of six-months rent free offered by the community to secure space in the market and encouraged Enugu people to visit the market.

He used the opportunity to unveil Enugu East Garri, a high-quality product processed and sold at a subsidised rate in the market.
