Enugu Commissioner Receives Winners Of Maiden Edition Of  2023 Governor Mbah Under 15 Football Championship, amidst jubilation

Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu, has assured that quality players discovered  during the maiden edition of 2023 Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah under 15 boys football championship will progress to senior and professional football in Nigeria or abroad.

Speaking while receiving  the winners of  2023, U 15 football boys championship, Community Secondary School Ihe,  Awgu local government area, at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, Barrister Ekweremadu, thanked Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his youth development programmes, especially through  various sports activities.

According to him, “Football is a serious business and veritable  source of income, in view of this, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, will always partner relevant  stakeholders  and corporate Nigeria  in ensuring  that students and  other youngsters have career pathway in sports.”

In his remarks,  Awgu local government Chairman, Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo, who was represented by the Supervisor for  Education, Youth and Sports, Mr Nwonwu Reuben Nwabueze, thanked Enugu State Governor for providing youths the opportunity to showcase their football skills, noted, that Awgu local government , will continue to partner the State government to improve sports in the State.

Director Topflight Sports International, Mr Austine Aniebue, commended the Commissioner for his efforts towards  grassroots  sports development , he disclosed that Community Secondary School, Ihe ,will participate in  China in 2024, under 15 Football Championship.

Chairman, Post Primary Schools Management Board, PPSMB, Rev. Father Hillary Mgbodile, who was represented by the  Director of Sports  PPSMB, Mrs Francisca Ngozi Owo, thanked  the  Commissioner for  the  improvement he has brought to bear in youth and sports in Enugu State.
