Enugu APC crisis deepens as party expels ex-governor Chime, Nnamani, Okechukwu, others

Crisis engulfing the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Enugu State has taken a new dimension following the expulsion of former Senate President Ken Nnamani, former Enugu Governor Sullivan Chime and Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu from the party for alleged anti-party activities.

Also expelled were former Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Speaker Eugene Odo.

The serving Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and his Special Aide, Flavour Eze were on expulsion list.

Enugu State Secretary of the APC, Robert Ngwu who read the decision of the State Executive Council (SEC), noted that the recommendations of the fact finding and disciplinary committee was adopted by SEC.

The State APC Scribe further announced the expulsion of Joe Mammel and Maduka Arum.

They were accused of working against the interest of the party and openly supporting other parties during the just concluded elections.

In his remarks, the State chairman of the party Ugochukwu Agballa described the affected members as habitual trouble makers who were in the habit of tormenting  crisis in the party.

He recalled how they fought the previous party leadership of the party in the State expressing joy that they have been shown the way out. “Now we can have peace in Enugu APC”
