Election of Dr Oti has destroyed Abia Charter of Equity – Activist 

Comrade Kindness Jonah, Convener, Voice From the East, and member, Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) spoke to DAILY NEWS NIGERIA Correspondent, IKENNA OGBU on the emerging face of Abia State politics, concluding that the  election of Chief Alex Oti of Labour Party as Governor-elect  has destroyed Equity Charter treaty in the state.

Q: What is your comment on the zoning system governorship in Abia State viz-avis its Charter of Equity?

A: In Abia State, zoning of governorship is not adhered to as the Governor-elect, Chief Alex Oti and his deputy, Engineer Kingsley  Emetu are of the same Abia North Senatorial Zone. While Oti hails from Arochukwu, his deputy, Emetu is from Ohaufia. Critics of the Governor-elect described the changing face of politics in Abia that prides itself as “God’s Own State” as satanic evil racket. The racket is that Oti will govern for eight years and hand over to his deputy for another eight years so that Abia North would rule for sixteen years before power could devolve to Abia Central”, the critics said. To cement their demonic and clandestine manifesto, they said, Oti, who was born , bred , trained and made somebody  by communal effort of the Ngwas, relocated  to Arochukwu, publicly saying that he is not Ngwa, but Arochukwu. This is good, any way. But God used Ngwas to make Alex Oti what he is  today, because his father died early. Ngwas communally contributed to his upbringing. This demonic dual citizenship is gravely needed by the satanic agents from Abia North to politically castrate Ngwas for donkey years in the state. Now, to concretize their dragonish whim, Oti had to claim that he is an  Ngwa man from Isi  Ngwa since it is the turn of Isi ala Ngwa to produce governor in 2023. We

discovered an evil scheme in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Abia State. Indeed, the election of Oti has destroyed the Charter of Equity in Abia State.

Q: But you seem to be alone in your criticism as the Governor-elect, Oti and his deputy won the election by a wide margin?

A: Contrary to misguided and misdirected public opinion of some Igbo in particular on Abia State, the just concluded gubernatorial  elections in Abia State was a farce, a schemed illogicality orchestrated by the hawks from Abia North and possibly Umuahia, the rest non Abians living at Abia used to achieve a satanic arrangement against the largest clan of Igbo tribe found in Abia State. Before now, the trump up charge against Okezie Ikpeazu , which however is preposterous on far and near distant examination, was that Ikpeazu picked another Ngwa man to succeed him. But we know that Ngwas cut across two Senatorial zones of the state which makes it soundly equitable for Ngwa from Central Senatorial zone to succeed Ikpeazu. But if that argument was seen as jaundiced, it was a small fry compared to the satanic evil scheme by Alex Oti and his Abia North political ineptitudes whose know it all is Ngwaphorbia. No person in Abia State , from Abia North, even from larger Igboland has spoken to condemn this humongous anomaly and fiendish manoeuvre against  equity and Justice in Abia State where Oti and his deputy are from the same Abia North Senatorial we Zone. Now, what justifiable reason could have prompted this? The only propeller is nothing but the same Ngwaphorbia by some  Igbo against the Ngwas whenever demand for justice is called into play. But the same Igbo are accusing Nigerians of Igbophorbia , whereas Igbos are guilty of collective Ngwaphorbia within the Igbo polity. How can one rationalize this now in Abia State?  What seed is now being sown in Abia State? Why has Ohanaeze Ndigbo kept quiet?  Why have Ohanaeze Elders kept quiet? Why have Igbo Activists kept quiet ? Why have Igbo Journalists not written against it? Could Okezie Ikpeazu have done this?  The same fiendish hawks from Old Bende Division made Ikpeazu waste one full year on litigations to be full Abia Governor. But this Ikpeazu could not focus on development of Abia. But the same Abia North  worked against Enyinnaya Abaribe for four years. Can Orji Uzo Kalu and his Abia North easily wash their hands off the killing of Dr. Chima Nwafor and Professor Ikonne? God stands to reveal the secrets of men.

Q: What is your take on the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Owerr (FUTO) Professor Oti who was the Returning Officer in Abia gubernatorial election?

A: Unnecessary and unmerited glory and unfounded encomium have been showered on this woman who is a champion of Ngwaphorbia. This Oti is the sister to the Alex Oti. She is from Afikpo, but not from Afikpo. What an oxymoron? Yes, Mrs Oti is not from Afikpo, though living in Afikpo. The Returning Officer– Mrs Oti , is from Arochukwu , but residing at Afikpo, and as a typical Aro person, claims indigenedship of Afikpo , which was used maximally by Abia North to move all other Igbo and non- Igbo residing at Aba and Umuahia to vote out Okechukwu Ahiwe of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the political rolling stone called Alex Oti. So, the trio of Oti as Governor elect,  Deputy Governor elect as well as Returning Officer for the gubernatorial election are all from the same Abia North Senatorial Zone. Has any Igbo man or Igbo woman countered or condemned it, he asked rhetorically. Ofcourse, not, because Ngwa interest is concerned. Rather what Igbo did was to organize a wild and elaborate reception at Owerri at FUTO for the Ngwaphorbic  Returning Officer at FUTO for the Ngwaphorbic  job well done to oust Okechukwu Ahiwe from Ngwaland.

Q: But Oti Senior, father of Alex lived all his life in Ngwa land?

A: Yes, but Oti reburies his father, excavates his bone from grave and re-buries it at his home Arochukwu. Ngwaland used communal effort to train Alex Oti when his father died at Umuvuru Nvosi, in Isi also Ngwa South. His father was so dedicated to God that it was said he has Angelic visitation. He was so loved by Ngwas that when he died , when Alex Oti was too young as  a student, effort was called into play to help Oti’s mother  train her son.

When Oti became rich, there is nothing at Umuvuru Nvosi that he can thank God for. Rather, what the people of Umuvuru got from Oti was the excavation of the bones of his father for reburial after more than twenty years of death.

Oti was reported to have stated clearly that he is never an Ngwa person. Ofcourse, no Ngwa prevented him from going  or relocating to his place just as no Ngwa forced Aros to relocate to Ngwaland in the yester-years.  But the public lesson here is that Oti publicly denounced citizenship of Ngwa for Arochukwu when the Ngwas least expected that from him. Then in 2023, for the sake of election, to spite Ngwas, Oti picked Labour Party form and filled that he is from Ngwa in order to forestall the hope of any Ngwa from Isi ala Ngwa becoming the governor. Oti now a surrogate Ngwa, picks his deputy from the same Abia North, and went to lobby INEC Chairman to make the same Aro the Returning Officer in the election.That was how the cookie crumbled in Abia gubernatorial election. But people are jubilating , mostly that Ngwas lost election. But, time will expose all things and heal all wounds. But Igbo should know as touching Ngwaphorbia that whatever goes round, comes round.The fate of Igbo in Nigeria is the fate of Ngwas in Igboland.

He that comes to equity is expected to come in clean hands, except in Igboland whenever Ngwa interest is concerned.
