Governor-elect of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, yesterday paid a thank you visit to Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State at Government House, Owerri.

The newly elected governor who came in company of the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, his deputy and the state chairman of the party in Edo state, said they came to appreciate Governor Hope Uzodimma for his fatherly role towards his election.

Okpebholo pledged to prioritise development of the state, citing divine providence in his electoral victory.
.
“We have contested the election by his grace, we have won the election, and we are here to tell you that the next step is to develop Edo state”.
.
He used the opportunity to formerly invite the Imo State Governor to his inauguration coming up on 12th November 2024
.
“I know that you will be there to perform the role of a father which you are to all Progressive Governors”.
.
Responding, Governor Hope Uzodimma described it as a thing of joy that their party, APC won the governorship election in Edo State.
.
He used the opportunity to congratulate the governor, members of APC and entire people of Edo State for the victory of Okpebholo.

“We pray that the Almighty God will give you the wisdom to do those things you promised during the campaigns. To give Edo State a new look, bring prosperity and development to Edo State and justify the confidence resposed in you by the leaders, members of our party and the entire people of Edo State”.

He appreciated the Governor-elect for coming all the way from Edo, with his deputy and leaders of the party to thank him, describing it as “very symbolic, which I must treasure for a very long time”.

“When you go, go with confidence that one with God is majority. With the kind of support you have gotten and the kind of blessing given to you by our president, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I don’t think you have any reason to be afraid.
.
“You won and you won convincingly and the same God who gave you victory will sustain the victory”, Uzodimma assured the Edo Governor-elect.
