Ebonyi renewed communal war claims 2 persons, injuring one Police Officer

Fresh communal clash has erupted between the people of Abaomege and Ishinkwo communities in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, claiming two persons, injuring one Policeman.
The two warring communities have been at war for a very long time over land dispute with lives lost and property destroyed.
It was gathered that three persons from Ukawu were shot earlier this morning on their way to Abakaliki.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the incident.
Onovwakpoyeya said, “Three persons including a Police Officer who was returning home after the close of work, were shot at the Abaomege- Oshinkwo area by the Oshinkwo warriors.
“The victims were rushed to the hospital. Two of the victims were confirmed dead but the Policeman is responding to treatment. Intensive Manhunt is on for the fleeing Suspects”.
