Bayelsa@29: Diri has outperformed other governors since Bayelsa creation—IPAC

Mr Simeon Imomitimi, Chairman Inter-Party Advisory Council Bayelsa chapter (IPAC) has said that Gov. Douye Diri’s developmental legacy is unparalleled in the history of Bayelsa.

 

He stated this on Tuesday, during a press conference in Yenagoa to commemorate Nigeria’s Independent Day Celebration and creation of Bayelsa.

 

The Chairman noted that Diri’s infrastructural development projects are unmatched by any other Governor that has governed the state.

 

He stated that the governor has performed overwhelmingly well by delivering the dividends of democracy beyond the expectations of the people, adding that Diri’s projects are targeted towards improved standard of living of the citizenry.

 

He highlighted the outstanding achievements of Diri in road construction to include the Nembe -Brass road, Ekeremor-Aggr road, Oporoma/ Angiama -Ukubie road which according to the IPAC Chairman will gulp between N300 billion to N500b to complete.

 

He further enumerated other areas the governor has performed well to include the installation of a 60 Megawatts Gas Turbine which is expected to provide uninterrupted power supply to Yenagoa and its environs.

 

His words: “Without mincing words His Excellency Douye Diri in our assessment stands tall and unmatched among the governors that have administrated the state to this point in terms of infrastructural development. He has performed overwhelmingly well.

 

“IPAC commends Douye Diri for a job well done in prioritising the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

 

“Diri has done exceptionally well in the area of health as personified by encouraging primary health care services by establishing health centres in every ward.

 

“Establishment of a referral hospital in every local government area of the state.

 

“The governor has also prioritised the security of lives and property as can be evident in his robust security master plan that has ensured that crimes and reduced to the barest minimum and ensured that Yenagoa is safe,” he said.

 

The IPAC Chairman reaffirmed the resolve to partner with the government to ensure that the dream of making Bayelsa a peaceful place for development is achieved.
