The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), Bayelsa Chapter, an umbrella body for female engineers, is set to inaugurate Engr. Amalate Ann Jonathan Obuebite, PhD FNSE, as the 4th Bayelsa Chairman and Executive Committee member.
Obuebite, a Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers, (FNSE) is the Wife of the former Chief Whip of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and Commissioners of Education, Information and Orientation.
The President of APWEN, Engr. Adebisi Osom is the chairman of the occasion.
The inauguration, which is expected to take place in Yenagoa on the 18th of February, 2025, is also to celebrate Nigerian women who are championing the progress of Nigerian women in their chosen fields.
Expected as keynote speaker is the Former Executive Vice President (Upstream) NNPCL, Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye OON FNSE and the lead paper is to be delivered by a lecturer in the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, University of Port Harcourt, Rivers.
Dignitaries expected at the event include the executive governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, his deputy, Senator Lawrence Erhujiakpor, and members of the State and National Assembly from Bayelsa State.
