Anambra 2025: Soludo Deserves Second Tenure – Market Leader

BY POLYCARP IFEANYI / ONITSHA

Chairman of Haruna Street Traders  Association Onitsha, Anambra State, Chief Emmanuel Idoko has stated that Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo deserves to go for second tenure as governor of Anambra State in order to complete his developmental strides which he started in the state.

Chief Idoko who is also the Chief Security Officer ( CSO) of Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA) made the assertion while fielding questions from newsmen in Onitsha.

He stated unequivocally that Professor Soludo has lived up to expectations and has no one to challenge his second tenure, contending that he has within two years achieved what no governor has achieved in eight years.

He said, ” Governor Soludo  deserves to be voted for the second tenure. He is not contesting with anybody because what he achieved within two years are visible and everyone is seeing them. Both blind and deaf are even feeling them”

He wondered why opposition parties could not acknowledge the efforts of Governor Soludo for his massive road projects and other developmental programmes.

“Is there any other project more than roads construction which both the poor and the rich benefit?. Access road seems to be the greatest thing which every human being needs for movement of goods and services including vehicles”

” I don’t think if there is any other project more than roads which Soludo is building simultaneously within 21 local government in the state. Again, apart from roads, other sectors like education, Health, youths/ teachers employment, Water scheme, eradication of Agboros and touts amongst others. He is also performing well”

The Anukaenyi as he is fondly called by his admirers, explained that insecurity and kidnapping started before Professor Soludo became the G?governor of Anambra State, stressing that he is not the cause of insecurity and kidnapping in the state.

“Those who said Soludo caused insecurity are enemies of Anambra State. Insecuity and kidnapping is not only in  Anambra State, it is in the whole States. It is even worst in the Northern state, but Soludo is trying so much in other to curb it in Anambra State. Everybody would be saying anything because campaign is almost at the corner, but  everybody knows that Soludo has done well and continue trying”

“To be frank, our Market is solidly behind Soludo’s second tenure because  we are one of the beneficiaries of his administration. This road which passed through Sokoto road and Haruna to Head Bridge, before you cross it, it will take up to two to three hours but now, Soludo has built it. It will not take few minutes drive to connect head bridge. Even Nwangene Bridge which had been causing accident and obstruction for containers to off load goods as well constructed. We met former Governor Obiano to build the bridge but he did not build it. but, immediately Soludo became Governor he built it together with all Nwangene gutters”

The Market Leader reiterated that there was no doubt for Soludo’s victory in his second tenure, noting that if third tenure is allowed, he will still serve.

“We have seen what Soludo is doing. The one we are seeing we know not what we have not seen. So, after eight years, let another person come over and serve”

Idoko lauded the special Assistant to Soludo on trade and Market, Chief Sir. Everist Uba and President General of Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna for consolidating Markets in Anambra State, saying that their appointment by Soludo to oversee Markets is the choice of traders.
