Anam Community decries bad road, sends SOS message to Gov. Soludo

The people of Anam Community in Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State have decried the delipidation of roads in their area, appealing to Governor Charles Soludo to come to their aid.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday in Anam, a Lagos base business mogul, Dr Edochie Onuorah, stated that thy are passing through untold hardship due to bad roads and absence of social amenities in the locality.

Dr Onuora, an indigene of Anam community, therefore, called on Governor Soludo to remember them in his road project, pointing out that the roads need urgent attention.

“We are facing untold hardship here because of non access road. It is regrettable that former Governor Willie Obiano who is from this axis failed to build this road during his administration. But there is nothing we could do except calling on the present Governor to help us.

“Anam is a is a peaceful community. We are united. Nobody is afraid of each other. We move freely and that’s what it is supposed to be in Anambra, Igboland and Nigeria in general”

The Telecommunication Manager said, “My people find it difficult to access their farm land, go to market to sell their farm produce and even visitors find it cumbersome to visit them.

Also speaking, the Deputy Governor of United Peoples Club of Anam, Mr. Udeorji Ifediegwu (a.k.a) Okeosisi Anam lamented that although Anam community is the largest food production in Anambra State, it does not have access road to convey the products to the market.

He said that there were high expectations from the former governor of the state, Willie Obiano to construct the roads having come from the area but he left office without reconstructing the road.

In his speech, a member of the Club, Mr. Sunday Okonkwo, said that functional electricity and drinking water scheme and other social amenities are needed in their area especially being a peaceful community.
