1st National Council On Sports Technical Conference Meeting Begins In Enugu, May 20

Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Barrister Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu has said the State is set to host 1st National Council On Sports National  delegate  Conference in Enugu the Enugu State capital.

Ekweremadu who stated this during a media chat yesterday, said the National Conference with the Theme: “Sports For National Unity and Socio- Economic Growth” would hold from Monday, 20 – 22, 2024, at Old Government Lodge, GRA, Enugu.

The Sports Commissioner thanked Enugu governor, Dr Peter Mbah for approving to host the National Delegate Conference.
.
 “Enugu State Government and the good people of Enugu State welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of  Sports, Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, and participants to the 1st National Council On Sports Delegate  Conference”, he stated.
.
According to him, the State would host Commissioners of Sports ,Permanent Secretaries  and Directors of Sports from  the 36 States and FCT as well as National Secretaries of Sports Federations and officials from Federal Ministry of Sports Development.

He pointed out, “Enugu State has recorded successes  in hosting Coal- City Half  Marathon, and in enacting  Enugu State Sports Development Fund Law  designed to help raise fund for sports in the State, 1st Mixed Martial Arts Caged fight, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah Boxing Championship.

“In addition  the state has completed FIFA artificial Turf at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. More over,  Enugu Rangers have staged a come back to the city after the successful rehabilitation of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
.
“The leading position of Rangers International in the current league year is also heart warming. The hosting of this conference is yet another indication of the commitment of Enugu state government to the development of sports in the state. We welcome all delegates and hope they will find time to savor the hospitality of the COAL CITY STATE.”
